Learn to Square Dance Class on Thursdays at 7:30 PM. The next beginners class starts 17-SEP-2015 in Scott Hall.

We host one or two Mainstream & Plus dances each month on a Saturday night from October to May. We alternate Squares and Rounds (2+2). Check out our current year calendar for details. All our dances run from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM (unless others noted).

Upcoming Dance Events:

The next dance will be our Red & White Ball. This is an EZMS level dance (with a PLUS Tip) in Scott Hall on Saturday, APR-18 with Jay Silva calling and Margene Jervis cueing. This Ball is oriented towards recent class graduates and current class members nearing completion of a MS level class.

The following dance will be an alternating MS/PLUS level dance in Scott Hall on Saturday, May-16 with Jerry Maurice calling and Phil Gatchell cueing.

NOTE: ALL our home dances are located in Scott Hall at 24 Vernon Street, Framingham. This is located just off of Edgell Road, 1/4 mile North of Route 9 in Framingham Centre (adjacent to the Unitarian-Universalist First Parish Church). See our maps page

The Fairs 'n Squares invites interested newcomers to join our square dances for new beginners on Thursdays, (7:30 to 9:00 PM). This class will introduce you to the Basic and Mainstream level of dancing. Dancers ready for higher level dancing can stay for a Mainstream/Plus workshop from 9 PM to 9:30 PM. Class begins Monday, January 12, 2015

The Fairs 'n Squares is sponsoring a new beginner's Round Dance class starting on Monday, 12-JAN-2015. This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of round dancing (aka choreographed ballroom dancing). BEGINNERS: 7:00 - 8:30 PM (learn the CHA-CHA rhythm - no prior experience needed). NON_BEGINNERS: 8:30-10:00 PM (Learn many rhythms - for dancers with some experience). This class will be taught by one of the best Cuer/Instructors in our area: Birgit Maguire. Only $72.00 per dancer per 8 week session. There will be two 8 week sessions. See the registration form on this Flyer.

The Fairs 'n Squares will be enjoying a dance weekend at East Hill Farms. We invite all our square dance friends to join us there. Six delicious home style meals will be served, Varied accommodations are available to satisfy all tastes. There will be both Square and Round Dance workshops in addition to plenty of dances. New Years Eve Dinner and Dance

Secure your dinner reservation before December 20 by sending a note to NYE@fairsnsquares.com or mail your check to Fairs 'n Squares, c/o Anita and Bob Ouellette, 8 Simpson Road Wayland, MA 01778. Use the coupon on this flyer to mail in your dinner reservation.

Our dinner is served to you by our friendly FNS helpers. Dinner includes a salad, an entree with potatoes and vegetables, bread, coffee, and dessert. This is a great deal for a catered NYE dinner AND dance for only $35 per person. You have a choice of either a Chicken or a Vegetarian entree.

You can skip the dinner and just come for the dance for only $10 per person (pay at the door - no advance reservation needed). Ring in the New Year with friends at our MS/PL dance with Jay Silva calling and Harriett Clarke cueing. Snacks will be available for grazing all evening. This is a wonderful way to welcome in the New Year, especially if you bring friends and loved ones with you.

If you don't want to drive home late at night on NYE, or if you just want to use NYE as an excuse for additional time to relax, pick one of our nearby local hotels and extend your celebration into New Years Day. There are many hotels, with a wide choice of price and quality, within a few minutes of our dance hall. See the Hotel List for a selection of hotels near to our dance hall.

This is our Red & White Ball (postponed from 14-Feb). It is a EZMS Level square dance including fun tips for class level dancers and recent graduates. Jay Silva calling, Margene Jervis cueing. All area clubs are invited to bring their current class and recent graduates. Only $7/dancer.

Although it is not required, our Class Advisor would appreciate hearing from any club planning on bringing some of their class to the class level events. Please send an e-mail to the FNS Class-Advisor and let us know approximately how many club and class members might attend.

FNS Scholarship for Framingham area student

The FnS provides a $1,000 per year scholarship for up to four years to a worthy area student. In spring-2014, the Fairs 'n Squares selected a new student to receive this honor.

All dancers are welcome to support this scholarship. Our annual raffle drawing for 2015 will be conducted at our dance on Saturday 18-APR-2015. The Fairs 'n Squares also accepts tax deductible donations to the scholarship fund. To support the scholarship just send your donation check made out to: Fairs 'n Squares. Send it to: FnS Scholarship Fund, PO Box 177, Framingham, MA 01704-0177. For additional details on the scholarship fund e-mail our current Scholarship Fund chairpersons. Click here to see a flyer for the 2015 raffle. Raffle tickets for our many prizes may be bought at our dances prior to and up until the raffle drawing.
